Property taxes are rising, making homeownership unaffordable for many clients. In this critical project, volunteers assist homeowners by determining whether to appeal a property tax assessment, and how to appeal the assessment when appropriate. Law students can assist with tax assessment research and attorneys can represent or advice clients about advocacy at hearings.

The Estate Planning Project partners with attorneys, law students, and paralegals across Atlanta to provide low-income clients with estate planning documents, including a Last Will & Testament, Financial Power of Attorney and Advance Directive for Healthcare

The core of Atlanta Legal Aid’s mission is to help low-income people navigate the complexities of the court system at the most vulnerable times in their lives. In this course you will learn how we pursue this mission by assisting clients with matters handled by the Enhanced Services Project.
